When Alex isn’t running his website and blog, he’s probably working on a computer program or helping Whit at Whit’s End. He has big ideas, but that doesn’t keep him from being level-headed. He usually stays out of trouble unless his cousin Cal Jordan eggs him on.
Mandy Straussberg is sweet and intelligent, but does have a stubborn streak. She’s had her share of disagreements with her best friend, Liz Horton. But the two of them have been there for each other, even through the tough times. Mandy’s brother, David, is sometimes too cynical for his own good.
There’s no one quite like Wooton. When he’s not delivering mail, creating new comic-book characters, or looking for new ice-cream flavors, Wooton is helping the kids in some very unique ways.
As Odyssey’s resident window-washer and philosopher, Bernard takes great pride in doing things right—putting him at odds with today’s shortcuts and shortcut-takers. Despite his grousing and muttering, he has a heart of gold and tells great stories, which makes him a natural to host the television program, “B-TV.”
Connie has worked at Whit’s End since she moved to Odyssey. She is spontaneous and never inclined to hold back what she’s thinking, but she has a strong heart for discipleship—especially toward the kids at Whit’s End.
What Dr. Blackgaard is to evil, his twin brother Edwin is to ego. A consummately bad actor, Edwin is the proprietor of the Harlequin Dinner Theatre, and dedicated to bringing “thea-tah” to the masses—with the help of his long-suffering manservant, Shakespeare.
