Description
On a snowy Thanksgiving Day, Whit, Connie, Eugene and a few of their friends end up stuck at Whit's End. To pass the time, they tell a zany story of the Scrunch and his plan for "Thankstaking."
Eugene is Whit’s dependable, eccentric genius of an assistant. Whether he’s working at Whit’s End, teaching at Campbell College, or developing another big invention, Eugene knows everything about everything (or thinks he does).
John Avery Whittaker
“Whit” is an inventor, author, entrepreneur and owner of Whit’s End—an ice cream shop and “discovery emporium” where kids can be kids. His wise counsel, inventiveness and insight have made him a trusted friend and confidant to everyone in Odyssey.
Harlow Doyle
Harlow Doyle is the most clueless private detective anyone could ever hope to meet. Harlow got his start working “undercover” in the bedding and sheets department of a local store ... and his career has gone downhill since. You can spot Harlow (when he’s not trying to camouflage himself) puttering about the streets of Odyssey in pursuit of the wrong criminals on his trusty Moped.
Connie Kendall
Connie has worked at Whit’s End since she moved to Odyssey. She is spontaneous and never inclined to hold back what she’s thinking, but she has a strong heart for discipleship—especially toward the kids at Whit’s End.
Wooton Bassett
There’s no one quite like Wooton. When he’s not delivering mail, creating new comic-book characters, or looking for new ice-cream flavors, Wooton is helping the kids in some very unique ways.
Jay Smouse
Jay might call himself a bully, but it's only in his own mind. He likes to torment kids with his nicknames and attitudes, but most others don’t take him seriously. He is often his own worst enemy—getting himself into crazy situations of own his own doing. He sometimes hangs out with Vance King, though even their relationship can be adversarial.
