Jay Carty is a retired public speaker and the author/co-author of 10 books including Basic Training for Spiritual Combat,Prayer for Rookies and Playing With Fire. Jay is a former professional basketball player and coach who played for the Los Angeles Lakers and was on John Wooden's staff for three years at UCLA. Following his basketball career and a time in the business world, Jay directed a Christian conference center, was a church consultant with Churches Alive and in 1982 began Yes! Ministries, an organization dedicated to helping people say "yes!" to God. Jay and his wife, Mary, reside in Santa Barbara and have two grown children.
